Tara Let's Go!

Robin Sane in December 2022 prior to a match with CJ Serafin at the 2022 Noche Buena show.

Whenever this wrestling fan sees the title of this post, it reminds me of two things........the Manila Wrestling Federation and one of the founders of the promotion in Robin Sane.

When I first watched You Tube videos of the Manila Wrestling Federation back during the pandemic time, Robin was the first wrestler that I enjoyed watching.

The first time watching him was amazing.  He reminds me a lot of WWE's Rey Mysterio, one of the great daredeviling and high fliers.  Robin is not the tallest or biggest guy in MWF but he has a lot of heart and puts his body on the line in every match.

According to Cagematch, Robin was involved in the first MWF match known as Historycon 2016 when MWF and Singapore Pro Wrestling combined for a series of matches in Pasay City's World Trade Center.  According to the website, he faced one of his rivals, Fabio Makisig in a singles match and The Statement, Andruew Tang from SPW.

Up until 2018, there would be more rivals that he would face in Mr. Lucha, "Danger" Rex Lawin and Hong Kong's Ho Ho Lun.  Each guy was no small feat but more often than not, Robin would come up on the winning end.

In 2018, MWF would have three different shows to determine the two contenders who would wrestle for the MWF Pinoy Wrestling Championship.

At the 2018 Noche Buena show at the UP Bahay ng Alumni in Quezon City, Robin Sane defeated Fabio Makisig in one of the greatest, if not the greatest MWF match to date!

Over the next seven months, Robin successfully defended the title against the likes of "Danger" Rex Lawin, Frankie Thurteen, Morgan Vaughn and Moises Liwanag.

Then, there would be a controversy in the next defense of the title.  According to sources, Khayl Sison was supposed to be the number one contender for the title going into MWF Republika.  Instead, it was Ho Ho Lun according to then MWF Commissioner, Gus Queens.  Ho Ho Lun would win a controversial decision and would capture the title.  He would defend the title successfully on two occasions but the Covid-19 pandemic set in.

In 2022, Ho Ho Lun would relinquish the title.  Back to Robin Sane, it has been an uphill battle just to get a title shot.  He would get one in a TV show at Brawl Pit Bulusan against then, MWF Champion, Jake De Leon.

Then at the 2023 Road To Fate show, he received another opportunity against his rival, Fabio Makisig.  This happened because Robin Sane would win the 10-man scamble at the Lights, Kamera, Akyson show in June at the QC Memorial Circle.

This fan first met Robin at the 2022 Noche Buena show afterwards.  His match against CJ Serafin was one of the most hard fought matches I've seen in a long time.  I mentioned at the time that he is still capable in winning the MWF Pinoy Wrestling Championship.

Watching him one year later (last month), Robin looks better, more confident, quicker and stronger than I saw in 2022.

With Jake De Leon as the current champion, he now has the target on his back.  Robin is capable in beating people his size and larger.  In 2023, he did defeat Main Maxx who was the final competitor when Jake De Leon won the belt last month.  Main Maxx is a formidable opponent whether it is Jake, Rex Lawin or Robin.

There's no question that I can possibly see him with the MWF title sometime in 2024!
