VPW Spring Bash Update #1

Hello everyone.

Vietnam Pro Wrestling's first event of 2025, Spring Bash will take place on Saturday, February 22nd.  The venue is the VAIB Studio, D7 beginning at 7pm.

There has been one match just announced for the show.  It is a main event and a rematch from the Immortal Glory show last month.  We are speaking about Rocky Huynh versus The British Horror.  This match could determine the number one contender for the VPW Openweight Title now held by Hy Draco.

In their last encounter, The British Horror came out victorious.  Since his loss to Khoa Truong, he is undefeated in singles competition, including his victory last month.  The British Horror is hungry, and is looking for his first championship of any kind in VPW.

Rocky Huynh is a two time VPW Openweight Champion and has faced everything that Vietnam Pro Wrestling has to offer.  However, he has lost his last two matches in a VPW ring to Ares at Brawl Hallow's Eve in October and to The British Horror last month.  A three-peat is something that Rocky can ill afford.

For more information on the upcoming show, and tickets, please visit the Vietnam Pro Wrestling Facebook page.  VPW can also be found on Facebook, Instagram and more.  Thank you.

Thank You Photographers!

This post is definitely long, long overdue.

A few of you who this blogger knows, or knows of, takes photos at wrestling shows.  It definitely happens more in Southeast Asia than anywhere else that this fan has visited.  Photos are important for many reasons.  Thank you to everyone in the Southeast Asia region for all the photos you post.  They bring even more awareness of wrestling in the region.

Recently, this blogger saw a group of Facebook called HanzelBee Photography that were at a PUSO Livestream show.  The photos were definitely one of very good quality, definitely better than yours truly.

There are a few great photographers to mention.  Certainly my good friend, Cholo with Dexcon does a great job.  There's Jay X in Thailand.  Aurelien Foucault Photography does great work in Vietnam.  Delight 37:4 is excellent in the Philippines.  Carey Wasz from Vietnam Pro Wrestling is another source.  I don't know the photographers from SPW, Malaysia Pro Wrestling and a couple others.  However, the quality is great throughout.

It's nice to see the photos and photographers out there.  It's one more way to promote something that we love.

Shota at MYPW Seminar

Malaysia Pro Wrestling's wrestling seminar with Japanese wrestling star, Shota just recently.  Thank you to Malaysia Pro Wrestling for permission to share the photo.

Hello everyone!

After wrestling at SETUP Thailand's event last Saturday, Japanese pro wrestling star, Shota made his way to Malaysia.

A good number of participants were at a wrestling seminar, hosted by Malaysia Pro Wrestling.  The event was at the Malaysia Pro Wrestling Development Centre.

It's great to continue seeing well known wrestlers from outside the region coming to events like this and showing their expertise.  Those who were at the event a couple of days ago certainly learned a lot from another great wrestler from Japan.

Hello everyone!

Dexcon Pro Wrestling

Hello everyone!

This blogger would like to give a shout out to a wrestling group based in the Philippines.  You may have heard about a group called Dexcon Pro Wrestling.

This may have been mentioned before on this blog.  The group has done everything to make pro wrestling in the Philippines and throughout Southeast Asia and Asia better for everyone!

Their first sponsored pro wrestling show was in August 2023.  This fan was very fortunate to attend it at the Brawl Pit Bulusan.  It featured wrestlers from the former Manila Wrestling Federation, World Underground Wrestling - Philippines and wrestlers from other countries such as Singapore, Japan and Thailand.

In nearly two years, Dexcon has brought in wrestlers such as Alexis Lee, Poppy, Yuki Kamifuku, Kojio Akumu, CDK (Chris Brookes and Masa Takanashi), Shivam, AFAM Steve (aka Steve The Teacher), Jonathan Johnson, Monomoth and The Horrors just to name a few.

In March, Dexcon will have their next show and the group has really come up with a find.  Yoshi Tatsu, legendary Japanese wrestler with DDT, NJPW and a brief stint in the WWE will appear.  Who knows what Dexcon will come up with next.  Within 24 hours after the announcement, general admission tickets for the event were sold out!

Thank you to the staff at Dexcon for all you've done in the Philippines and throughout Asia.  One day, this blogger hopes to see another Dexcon event.  The first one at the Brawl Pit Bulusan was entertaining and wild!

Here's the link to Dexcon if anyone is interested in their shows past, present and future!  Thank you.

This Blogger's One Time Seeing Yoshitatsu

Hello everyone!

When learning of a legendary wrestler, Yoshitatsu, coming to the Philippines in March, the reaction was "Oh My God!"

For those of you who bought tickets for the Dexcon Wrestlestorm 2 show in March, you are in for the show of the ages!  Speaking of the show, it take place on Saturday, March 16th at the Brawl Pit Bulusan.  General admission tickets for the show are SOLD OUT but tickets remain.  Please visit the Dexcon Facebook page for more information.

This blogger's experience watching Yoshitatsu was definitely a very memorable one.  It was my first independent show in California.  The wrestling promotion was All Pro Wrestling based out of Daly City, near San Francisco.  It was in 2016.

The show featured some memorable names that you may have heard of.  From memory, they were a young Jeff Cobb, Marty Janetty (the Rockers), MVP and a local product, a favorite by the name of Matt Carlos.  When finding out that Yoshitatsu was appearing, a ticket was quickly purchased.  This fan knew of his days in WWE around 2010-2011.  I remembered a house show that he appeared in down in San Jose but was unable to attend.

The show was called Friday The 13th at the Pacelli Event Center (will find the photo later) in May.

With several hundred fans in attendance, Yoshitatsu faced Joey Ryan in a singles match. He won with a koji clutch.  That was one to remember.

Hopefully, fans in the Philippines and throughout Southeast Asia will get a chance to see Yoshitatsu at least once live in their lives.  He is definitely a must see!

Just ask the fans who were in Thailand regarding a legend that they saw in Naomichi Marafuji last Saturday night at a SETUP Thailand show!

SETUP Thailand's Next Show!

Hello everyone!

SETUP Thailand has announced their next two shows.

There will be a special show on Wednesday, February 12 being a Special Mat Show.  The blogger will try and get a location soon (Motorway Dojo?).

Also, the next ring show will take place on Saturday, March 21st at The Circus Studio G Village.  The theme is EP21: Thai Wrestling Battle  of the month of March!

Doors open at 6:00pm with the first match at 6:30pm.  For more on both shows, please visit the SETUP Thailand Pro Wrestling Facebook page.

This blogger remembers a quote that Rowdy Roddy Piper said in an interview a few years ago. That is "When you think you know the answers, I change the questions!"

Going into the last show, IWA Thailand: Bangkok Navigation 2025, there were numerous storylines from the show.  From seeing photos, video and conversations in chat groups, it was an exciting and interesting show.  Thank yous to Steve The Teacher, Daz Black, Masa Takanashi, Shota and Naomichi Marufuji for contributing greatly to the show.  Definitely, thank you to Pumi and the SETUP staff for making it happen.

Those that took part in the show (wrestlers, referees, staff) and of course, the wrestling fans who were there at The Circus Studio last Saturday, thank you as well.  Bangkok Navigation will be a show not forgotten anytime soon!

Will have more on the next two shows in the coming days and weeks.  Have a good day everyone!

ROR Experience 3 Results

Hello everyone!

Here are the results from Ring Of Rebirth's event, ROR Experience 3.  The show took place on Suday, January 19th at the Goldpine Industrial Building before an enthusiastic and sellout crowd.

A couple of things that the blogger wants to share with everyone.  First, in the second match between Raj and Ahmad Arif, it was Raj's debut in Ring Of Rebirth.

In the third match which was a tag match, Nyc still has an unblemished record.  He has yet to be pinned or submitted in any Ring Of Rebirth match.

Following the show, there was a Q & A session which for any wrestling fan, it's a welcome sight.  With Q & A's, wrestling seminars, and meet and greets that this fan is seeing at shows, Southeast Asia wrestling is in a great place right now!

Here are the results...

The Eurasian Dragon d. CBK in the first round tournament for the Ring Of Rebirth Singles Championship.
