PUSO Wrestling Heart-2-Heart Update #4

Hello everyone!

 

One match has been added for PUSO Wrestling's (Philippines) Heart-2-Heart show.  The event will take place on Saturday, September 21st.  Location is the Brawl Pit Bulusan beginning at 6pm.

 

Jomar and ?????? (partner of Jomar's choosing) will take on Isaiah Valencia and Patricia Ligaia in tag team action.  

 

For those who haven't followed how this match was made, Patricia Ligaia was the winner of the Jun Capilos Battle Royal.  She won by eliminating Jomar over the top rope to win it.

 

It appeared that initially, Jomar wanted Patricia in singles competition.  However, Isaiah Valencia stepped in perhaps to face Jomar instead.  Eventually, per General Manager - Sonny Go, this will now be a tag match.  Jomar will choose a partner of his choosing against Isaiah and Patricia.

 

Also, Jake De Leon, fresh off a very successful wrestling tour of Japan, will be in action that night.

Heart2Heart Update

Hello everyone!

 

The Philippines' PUSO Wrestling has announced that their next show, Heart2Heart, will take place on Saturday, September 21st.  The venue is the Brawl Pit Bulusan in Quezon City beginning at 6pm.

 

One match has been announced for the show as of the last few hours.  

 

Joya will face Chelsea Marie in one of several matches of the show.  This has the makings of a great match!

 

Both wrestlers came off good performances from the inaugural show, Unang Tibok, held last month.  Joya faced a rugged opponent in Aaron Liwanag and, more than, held her own.  Chelsea Marie did likewise in the Main Event against Mr. Philippine Wrestling, Jake De Leon.

 

There is something special added to this match.  The winner of this match will headline next month's Dexcon event in an International Dream Match.  The event is called Jam Of The Joshis that will take place on Sunday, October 13th.  This blogger will share more on that in the days ahead in a separate post.

Unang Tibok Results

Hello Everyone!

Here are the results from PUSO Wrestling's show, Unang Tibok.  The inaugural event took place this past Saturday at the Brawl Pit Bulusan in Quezon City.  Congratulations once again to PUSO Wrestling, the staff, fans, sponsors and everyone involved who was at Brawl Pit and Onyang's Cafe, before and after, the show.  It was a memorable and huge evening for all of us who attended.  The promotion has a great future ahead!  All the best!

Unang Tibok Update #6

Good morning everyone!

Business is picking up, as they say, as PUSO Wrestling's inaugural show is less than 10 days away!

This week alone, Jigo Live here in the Philippines has had two shows with four of PUSO Wrestling's wrestlers on the program.  If you haven't seen either episode, please check it out!  Both episodes were good, especially the one last night with Chelsea Marie and Jake De Leon.

This evening for those who have Facebook, The Wrestling-Wrestling Podcast will be live at 7pm with all things wrestling!  I've been told that what is going on in wrestling worldwide and locally will be discussed.  This blogger plans to be tuning in.  You can listen to it either on Facebook or You Tube.

From today. August 8th through August 10th, remaining tickets for the Unang Tibok show on August 17th will be 8.8% off the regular price.  If you've decided that you want to go to the show, please take advantage of this before the show sells out!  For more, please check the PUSO Wrestling Facebook page!  Before forgetting, the show begins at 6pm at the Brawl Pit Bulusan, the mecca of Pinoy Wrestling!

Finally, this blogger has had the best time ever in the country, in spite of the rain that has hit the region.  I've had a great time with several wrestling fans talking about Pinoy Wrestling, WWE, AEW and more.  In advance, thank you, not only for the welcome, but the great time here.   

As this blogger has said numerous times, Pinoy wrestling fans are extremely knowledgeable and passionate!  They want the product to succeed badly in this country.  In the days ahead, I'm sure I'll be talking to more fans as the Unang Tibog show gets closer.

From the observation of this blogger, PUSO Wrestling is on the right track and doing the right things to make this work.  As one sponsor and a fan, hopefully I'm being of help with the sponsorship and promoting on the blog.  Certainly, there is no doubts in this fan's mind that the show will be successful.

Gatoh Move Upcoming Show

Want to let everyone know that this blogger is enjoying the Philippines visit a whole bunch!  So much has happened in such a short time.  Have talked with several pinoy wrestling fans already and watched Summerslam with a friend of mine (which was one of the best 'Slams ever!).  

And being here when the Paris Olympics is going on and seeing Carlos Yulo getting Gold twice in Gymnastics!  Amazing!  Nesthy and Aira are still competing for medals!  And then there's my favorite in the pole fault in RJ Obiena!  I got to see him live last year in a huge track and field meet at the Prefontaine Classic!  All the best to all three athletes.  You are making this country proud and we are all seeing history!

Sorry I got away from pro wrestling momentarily.  However, the latest bit of pro wrestling news needs to be posted and fast.

Homegrown pinoy pro wrestler, Jake De Leon will be traveling to Japan later this month for a show put on by Gatoh Move (also known as ChocoPro).  He will be the first pinoy pro wrestler to wrestle in Tokyo's, Korauken Hall!  This is a great honor for any wrestler, especially from outside Japan.

JDL wrestled last month in Malaysia and nearly took the Ambition Global Heavyweight Title from Shaukat in the main event of their show.  He gave Shaukat all he could handle before the latter escaped with the win.

Jake will be teaming up with SPWs, Dr. Gore (w/UMA) and Antonio Honda against three other teams.  Notables such as Shivam and Monomoth of SETUP Thailand will also be on the show.

The thing that really stands out, besides the talent at the event, is the fact that the show will take place at Korauken Hall.  The arena is a short walk from the Tokyo Dome and is the mecca for pro wrestling in Japan.  New Japan Pro Wrestling has hosted many shows there.

The event, For The Future, will take place on Saturday, August 31st beginning at 11:30 am.  Doors open at 10:45am.

Unang Tibok Update #5

It's been a couple of days.  Wanted to update on the upcoming PUSO Wrestling show.  For those who are seeing this blog for the first time, the show will take place on Saturday, August 17th beginning at 6pm.  Location is the Brawl Pit Bulusan in Quezon City.

Jake De Leon, off two major matches with Zack Sabre Jr. and Shaukat in Malaysia, will face Chelsea Marie in a return match from the Pinoy Wrestling Night a few weeks back.

JDL is now on his second 100 matches of his career, and he's not taking this upcoming match lightly.  Shaukat found that out just recently when the two wrestlers butted heads at APAC Wrestling's last show.

Also, this fan believes that Chelsea Marie is training well for what will be her biggest match to date.

Masahiro Takanashi

In doing this post, I'm thinking of everyone who has been affected by Typhoon Carina that hit the Philippines over the past few hours.  My thoughts and prayers are with everyone at this time.

 

I've wanted to do a post on someone who has helped Southeast Asian wrestling over the years.  Tajiri is the first to come to mind.  Before doing one on Tajiri, my second choice, Masahiro Takanashi came to mind as well.

 

Masahiro Takanashi is a wrestler who works for the DDT Pro Wrestling promotion.  The 41 year old veteran has wrestled mostly in Japan.  However, he has also wrestled in the Philippines, Singapore and Thailand among Southeast Asian countries.

 

The two things that blew me away was the fact that he's won a combination 16 titles in his career.  Definitely impressive!

 

Also, if Cagematch is correct with the statistics, Masahiro Takanashi has wrestled in 2374 matches!  That is impressive considering he has wrestled since 2003.  Despite the years missed due to covid, he has averages over 100 matches per year or once every four days.  Any wrestler who has done that has to be durable.

 

This blogger talked with some fans who were at the Dexcon Wrestle Storm show earlier this year.  Takanashi along with Chris Brookes were the featured match in the show.  They took on a very quality team in Jake De Leon and Dabid Ravena.  It was a weekend to remember for Pinoy Wrestling fans. 

MWF Kasaysayan 2024 Results

A Look Back

This post either was deleted or the blogger never posted it.  In either case, my apologies that this happened.

 

In the middle with Ken Cifer (l) and Steve The Teacher (now AFAM Steve).  The Meet And Greet was a blast!   

 

Last year, on Monday, August 21, there was a wrestling show sponsored by Dexcon and WUW-Philippines.  The show featured wrestlers from World Underground Philippines, Manila Wrestling Federation, Singapore Pro Wrestling, APAC Wrestling (Malaysia) and a wrestler who formerly wrestled for Middle Kingdom Wrestling in China.

The day featured a Meet and Greet as well as a wrestling show at the Brawl Pit Bulusan.  There were five matches on the show.  Here are the results from memory....

Alexis Lee d. Poppy, Crystal and Chelsea Marie in, what turned out to be a four way for the SPW Queen Of Asia Championship.

Note: Alexis Lee was the special guest referee and did a superb job at it!

 

This fan had a blast at the show.  It was the first time visiting the Brawl Pit Bulusan in Quezon City.  Though a small venue, it was perfect for the show.   The adjoining restaurant, Onyang's Place serves good food and drinks.  This fan remembers the great quesadillas and what, I believe, was San Miguel Beer that was brought into the venue!

 

It is nearly a year since this has happened.  How time flies! 

Unang Tibok Update #2

Hello everyone!

 

PUSO Wrestling's first show, Unang Tibok will take place on Saturday, August 17th, a little over one month away.  The venue is the Brawl Pit Bulusan, Quezon City, beginning at 6pm.

 

So far, the main event and the Pusong Pinoy Wrestling Championship tournament has been announced.

 

The main event will feature the "Pinay Vixen", Chelsea Marie vs. "Mr. Philippine Wrestling" Jake De Leon.  This is a return match from last month's Filipino Wrestling Night, also at the Brawl Pit Bulusan.

 

The tournament for the inaugural Pusong Pinoy Wrestling Championship will feature eight wrestlers.  The pairings have not been set yet but have been named.  They are Isaiah Valencia, Joya, Main Maxx, El Kapitunero, Super P., Joey Rosas, Aaron Liwanag and Nigel San Jose.  It is assumed that there will be four - first round matches in the first round.  When the pairings are announced, this blogger will update everyone!

Unang Tibok Update #1

Hello everyone!

 

The featured main event match at the inaugural Unang Tibok show will feature "Mr Philippine Wrestling" Jake De Leon versus the "Pinay Vixen" Chelsea Marie.

 

Both wrestlers are no strangers to each other.  In their last encounter, Chelsea Marie was accidentally cut at Filipino Wrestling Night and the match was stopped.  A rematch was set for Saturday, August 17th.  The venue is the Brawl Pit Bulusan in Quezon City beginning at 6pm.

 

Along with this match will be the First Round of the tournament that will determine the Pusong Pinoy Wrestling Championship.  Eight wrestlers have been selected for the tournament.  Soon, the matches will be made.  This blogger will have it for you as soon as they are set.

Unang Tibok

Hello everyone!

 

According to Google translate, the words "Unang Tibok" translate from Filipino to English as First Beat.

Unang Tibok is the theme for the first PUSO Wrestling show.  The date of the pilot show is Saturday, August 17th with bell time at 6pm.  The venue is the Brawl Pit Bulusan (map above) in Quezon City.  The address is 41 Bulusan Street (corner of Calamba).

 

This blogger didn't mention this in his last post but there will be a show, and matches galore!

 

One match is set for the show already.  Chelsea Marie will take on "Mr. Philippine Wrestling" Jake De Leon in the Main Event.

 

It has also been announced that the first round of a tournament will take place to determine the inaugural Pusong Pinoy Wrestling Championship!  This sounds very exciting.  At the moment, this blogger doesn't know how many matches.  The announcement will happen in the coming days.  This blogger will share it with all of you when it happens!

Tagay Na! Show Update #7

Hello everyone!

Here is the updated lineup of matches for the Tagay Na! wrestling show scheduled for this coming Sunday, July 7th.  The location is the Brawl Pit Bulusan beginning at 6pm.

 

Main Maxx vs. Silent D in an "I Quit Match"

Dabid Ravena vs. Zera vs. Nigel San Jose in a Triple Threat Match.

Fabio Makisig vs. Isaiah Valencia in a Singles Match.

Robin Sane vs. Pinoy Bulldog in what is called "New School vs. Old School" or perhaps the other way around.  This blogger respects Old and New School Wrestling.

"Mr. Philippine Wrestling" Jake De Leon vs. El Kapitunero in a Submission Match.

And Finally

Turn Zero Kill (Saint John Martin and Ken Cifer) vs. High Proof (Kanto Terror and Razael).  The match is for the World Underground Wrestling World Tag Team Championship held by Turn Zero Kill.  The match has been determined as a Tornado Tag Team No Disqualification match.  What this means, if it is correct is that all four  wrestlers can be in the ring as the same time.

 

If anyone saw the press conference involving the two teams, things got rather chaotic.  The one thing this blogger has learned from Pinoy Wrestling matches is the following....  Never wake up a sleeping giant!  I will leave that statement at that!

Tagay Na! Show Update #6

There has been one match added for the Tagay Na! show scheduled for this coming Sunday, July 7th.  The event will be held at Brawl Pit Bulusan beginning at 6pm.

 

"Mr. Philippine Wrestling," Jake De Leon will face Ed Kapitunero in a Submission or an "I quit!" match.

 

Later this week, this blogger will share the entire card for the show since there have been a few changes.

APAC Wrestling's Next Show

APAC Wrestling's next show, Wrestlelegion will take place on Saturday, July 20th.  The venue is the Spacerubix, Puchong. 

 

One match has been set so far.  "Mr Philippine Wrestling", Jake De Leon will travel to Malaysia to take on "The Nusantara Menace", Shaukat.  The match is for Shaukat's Ambition Wrestling Global Championship.

 

Also, I've been told that The Eurasian Dragon and The Aerial Sniper - Nyc will wrestle at the show.  Will have an update on who they will be facing as soon as possible.

Dexcon Decada Update

Here is an update of the matches for the Dexcon Decada show.  The event will take place on Sunday, May 26th, 6pm at Brawl Pit Bulusan in Quezon City.  Please see the pic above regarding Dexcon rules on ALL matches!

 

"Mr. Philippine Wrestling" Jake De Leon vs. "The Best Technical Wrestler" Zach Sabre Jr.  in an International Dream Match.

Turn Zero Kill (SJM and Ken Cifer) vs. Pinoy Bulldog and Zera for TZK's WUW International Tag Team Championship.

Fabio Makisig vs. Jomar in a singles match.

The Horrors (Dr. Gore and Da Butcherman) vs. Robin Sane and ROMEO for The Horrors SPW Southeast Asia Tag Team Championship.

Dexcon Decada

Dexcon will be having it's next show on the weekend of May 25-26.

 

The event called Dexcon Dekada will be a part of the celebration of 10 years of Modern Pinoy Wrestling in the Metro Manila area.

 

On Saturday, May 25th, there will be a Meet And Greet beginning at 12 noon at Collective Base B2 GH.  On Sunday, May 26th, wrestling action will take place at the Brawl Pit Bulusan (41 Bulusan Street - Quezon City) beginning at 6pm.

 

There have been several matches lined up already for the show.

 

First off, "The Best Technical Wrestler Of The Decade" - Zach Sabre Jr. will take on "Mr Philippine Wrestling" - Jake De Leon in an International Dream Match.

 

Also, homegrown champs - TZK (Ken Cifer and Saint John Martin) will put the WUW Tag Team Championship on the line.

 

SPW Tag Team Champions, The Horrors (Dr. Gore and Da Butcherman) will put their title on the line as well.

 

Also, from what I've read, Fabio Makisig, Main Maxx, Jomar MWF, Robin Sane, Zera, Razael, Dabid Ravena and more will appear at the show.

By now, the kapafeds and Pinoy wrestling fans know that the Manila Wrestling Federation show was a huge success according to sources.  A special congratulations to MWF and Kyushu Pro Wrestling in Japan on a successful show before a sold out crowd.  As per the standard here, I won't post any full results until the Kasaysayan show has been shown on GANK and/or Rock Of Manila TV.

The next show is MWF Republika to be held at UP Bahay Ng Alumni on Sunday, May 12th beginning at 4pm.  The 2024 Chilly Willy Wrestling Cup in its second year will be held that day.

There has been one match regarding the cup that is now official.  

 

El Kapitunero will face Serafin Liwanag (formerly CJ Serafin) in a singles match.

Two other matches have been added besides the one Cup match.

 

Joya will take on Chelsea Marie in a women's single match.

 

Also, MWF Pinoy Wrestling Champion, Jake De Leon will face the number one contender, Main Maxx AND Fabio Makisig in a three way main event match for the title.  Makisig is implementing his rematch clause from last December's Noche Buena show.

 

Finally, my apologies for not posting this earlier, but I'm recovering from an accident last week on public transportation in my area.  Definitely feeling better and able to get back to blogging.
