Pinoy Wrestling Podcasts

Hello everyone!

 

In the Philiipines, the country is well covered when it comes to pro wrestling, whether it is local or on the international level.

 

There are three podcasts that I would like to share with the readers.  Pinoy wrestling fans are probably familiar with these already.  However, this being a Southeast Asia wrestling blog, it would be good to share these with wrestling fans worldwide.

 

The first one is The Dexcon Podcast.  This one is actually the newest one for this blogger though I've known about it for a little while.  Martin does a great job with this podcast.  I first listened to the podcast earlier this year when Zach Sabre Jr. appeared at a Dexcon wrestling show.  Here is the link for anyone interested in a present or past show...

The next one this blogger wishes to share is the PWPH Podcast and Main Event Mark which is held each Wednesday at 8pm (Philippines) time.  

 

The group, Pro Wrestling PH Club is a club that was created in 2016 and rebranded on December 31, 2022.  Angelo, Danielle, Christian and many others have done a great job with this group.  I was invited into the group in August 2023 and have enjoyed every moment since following.

The third podcast I would like to share is the longest running one in The Wrestling Wrestling Podcast. 

 

Rowen, Ro, Emile, Stan and Chino are extremely knowledgeable with both the worldwide and local scene in the Philippines.  Usually, their podcasts take place at 7pm on Thursdays (Philippines) and sometimes, subject to change.  Here is the link to The Wrestling Wrestling Podcast on Facebook...

One other thing this blogger would like to share.  There was a podcast that ended in June with their 94th episode, Kayfabe Cafe.  Although the podcast ended, please continue to check out their page as long as it's up.  When I first followed pro wrestling in the Philippines, I would listen to a couple of their podcasts.  They had the podcasts for a good eight years and they were definitely good.  All the best to the staff going forward.  Here's the link to their Facebook page...

APAC Wrestlelegion Update #4

There has been an added match for APAC Wrestlegion for Saturday night.  This blogger found out about this a couple of hours ago.  Slow response by the promotion, I guess.

 

The Eurasian Dragon from ROR Wrestling in Singapore will team up with Hendo Ramli.  They will take on the team of Joe Louise and K.A.E in a tag team match.

 

APAC Wrestlelegion will be this evening at the WNZ Arena, Spacerubix, Puchong.

Wrestling Show Preparation

In various countries, there are ways that promotions prepare for wrestling shows.  Wrestling rings are one of them.

 

Some of this is similar to my experiences of preparing a track for another sports entertainment in North America known as Roller Derby.

APAC Wrestlelegion Update #3

Hello everyone!

 

APAC Wrestling's next show, Wrestlelegion, will take place on Saturday, July 20th.  The venue is the WNZ Arena, Spacerubix, Puchong beginning at 8pm.

 

There has been one enormous match added to the show that this blogger just learned.

 

Filipino Pro Wrestling Champion, Mike Madrigal will face NYC from Ring Of Rebirth (Singapore) and local stars, Big Eddie Emil and Mick Mercer in a four way match for the FPW Championship.  These type of matches always reduce the champion's odds.  However, I would never count out a champion, especially one of Mike Madrigal's caliber!

Unang Tibok Update #3

Hello everyone!

 

PUSO Wrestling, as been mentioned over the past couple of weeks, will be having their inaugural show. Unang Tibok, on Saturday, August 17th beginning at 6pm. The location is the Brawl Pit Bulusan in Quezon City, PH.

 

Up until this post, there will be a Main Event match and four quarter final matches of a tournament.  The tournament of seven matches overall will determine who will be the first Pusong Pinoy Wrestling Champion.

 

There is one additional match that has been added to the show.  The Jun Capilos Jr. Battle Royal, an over-the top elimination battle royal will feature six wrestlers, all capable of winning the event.  

 

This blogger knows the family from a couple of shows last year.  Jelson and his two daughters have always been supportive in the short time we've known one another.  Thank you to the Capilos family who has supported shows and Pinoy wrestling in general!

 

The wrestlers involved in the match are Fabio Makisig, Patricia Ligaya, Dabid Ravena, Ken Cifer, Danny Zamora and Brother Benny.

Grapplemax: NWE Open House

Grapplemax Pro Wrestling Singapore will be having another NWE Open House this coming Saturday, July 20th, 7pm at the Grapplemax Studios.

 

The main event match is a special one.  Grapplemax will be bidding a temporary farewell to Nathaniel and Tydus as they head off to serve the nation! Though they have shared the ring together, we’ve never seen them on opposing teams, till now.

 

 

For their farewell match, they will each partner with an established Grapplemax tag team star - Tydus and YC vs Nathaniel and Shawn Phang. Yes, you read that right!  Aussie Aussie Aussie will also be in opposing corners for the first time in their Grapplemax career!  Yet another history-making moment at Grapplemax NWE Open House.

APAC Wrestlelegion Update #2

Hello everyone.

 

APAC Wrestling's (Malaysia) next show, Wrestlelegion, will take place this coming Saturday, July 20th at 8pm.  The venue is the WNZ Arena, Spacerubix, Puchong.

 

There is an added match to the show.  "Asian Warrior" Daryl Wong, the UCE Wrestling Intercontinental Champion, a promotion from Hawaii, will take on Jago Aqasha and Konrad Kai in a Gauntlet Match.  It will be Wong's first appearance in Malaysia in a couple of years.

MYPW: Fight Back Show Update #5

Hello everyone.

 

There's been a match added to Malaysia Pro Wrestling's show, Fight Back.  The event will take place on Saturday, August 3rd with bell time beginning at 6pm at the KuAsh Theater TTDI.

 

Freelance wrestler, Zhan Wen will face MYPW's Cornelius Low and Blazing Raj in am International 2-on-1 Handicap Match.

PH Pro Wrestling Coming To Solar Sports

Just learned that a few hours ago that PH Pro Wrestling will be coming to a cable channel in the Philippines known as Solar Sports.

PUSO Wrestling Tournament Now Set

Hello everyone!

 

Puso Wrestling's Pusong Pinoy Pinoy Wrestling Championship tournament is now official as part of the Unang Tibok show.

 

Joya will take on Aaron Liwanag, leader of Bahay Ng Liwanag in one of the four Quarter Final matches of the show.  The winner of the tournament will become the inaugural Pusong Pinoy Wrestling Championship.

 

Besides this match, here are the other four  matches set if you are reading this blog for the first time....

 

Main Maxx vs. El Kapitunero.

Joey Rosas vs. Super P.

Nigel "Suplex" San Jose vs Isaiah Valencia.

 

And The Main Event

"Mr Philippine Wrestling" Jake De Leon vs. "Pinay Vixen" Chelsea Marie.

Ring Of Rebirth's Next Show

Ring Of Rebirth Singapore's next show, ROR Wrestling, was taped on June 30th and will be shown soon on You Tube.

 

The show features a GTFO match with Team Singapore versus Team Asia.  Wrestlers from Ring Of Rebirth, TOP Dojo and Vietnam Pro Wrestling were on the show.

Third PUSO Tourmament Match Set

Hello everyone!

 

PUSO Wrestling is the home of Pinoy Wrestling in the Philippines and around the world!  Their first show, Unang Tibok, will take place on Saturday, August 17th at 6pm.  The location is the Brawl Pit Bulusan in Quezon City.  

 

The third match in the PUSO Wrestling tournament has been announced.  The tournament we're talking about is for the inaugural Pusong Pinoy Wrestling Championship.

 

Two Barangay Bagsakan teammates, Nigel "Suplex" San Jose and Isaiah Valencia, have been announced as one of the first three matches in the tournament.  Both men have come off matches in which Nigel won a three way match and Isaiah did well in a match against Fabio Makisig.

 

The other two tournament matches that are set are Main Maxx vs. El Kapitunero and Joey Rosas vs. Super P.

 

In the main event, the return match from Pinoy Wrestling Night will feature "Mr. Philippine Wrestling" Jake De Leon vs. the "Pinay Vixen" Chelsea Marie.

MWF Kasaysayan 2024 Results

 

Hello everyone!

Apologies for this post being late for various reasons.  However, here are the results from the MWF Kasaysayan 2024 show and Meet and Greet.  The event took place on Sunday, April 14th at the UP Film Institute Media Center, UP Dillman.
