Here are the results from Thailand Origin Pro Wrestling's show, Battle Of The Clans. The event took place on October 29th at the Motorway Dojo. Thank you to Thailand Origin Pro Wrestling for posting the results.
Being this blogger's first pro wrestling show outside America, did not know what would be expected. It all began about two hours before the doors to the Peta Theater Center in Quezon City opened.
This fan met up with Darius, one of the most knowledgeable wrestling fans I know. Along with his friend, we went to a nearby restaurant, and eventually made it back before the doors opened.
Once inside, the Peta Theater Center is a great setting for a pro wrestling show. It would be something like the independent shows this fan sees locally and the early day ECW shows in a ballroom.
The event itself? Top notch! Fans in the ringside areas received a poster and top notch wrestling! There were 10 matches that evening and a near sellout crowd was ready for what was about to happen!
The opening match between Aaron Liwanag against Yellow Shirt was a mismatch only in size. I thought Yellow Shirt held her own against a male opponent. It was the first time seeing an intergender match and quickly got used to the physicality. Yellow Shirt became Joya and part of the MWF roster a few months later.
Pinoy Bulldog, a veteran wrestler from back in the late 1980s appeared at the show and was in great shape. He took on White Shirt. White Shirt won and now known as Isaiah Valencia, he would now be part of the MWF roster.
There were several title changes for the SETUP Thailand 24/7 title. It seemed that evening that the title itself was as hot as a firecracker! Brother Jomar Liwanag was the champion going into the show. However, a pinfall by an unexpected source, Tarek El Tayech during a conversation with Bahay Ng Liwanag in the ring would change title ownership.
There would be three more title changes in the course of the evening. Veronica Litton, the head of MWF would defeat Tarek out in the hallway during an interiew with Patricia Ligaya, the interviewer. Eventually, she would lose out to a tag team of Danny Zamora and Razael not by pinfall, but by wanting to be the head of MWF at the end of the show. The tag team would lose out to Aaron Liwanag who would eventually lose out to Ken Warren in the stairway.
Ken Warren would then go into a three on one handicap match against Bahay Ng Liwanag as the champion instead of the challenger. It turned out that Bahay Ng Liwanag would be the handicapped one as Warren would retain the 24/7 title.
El Kapitunero defeated Saint John Martin when Martin's knee buckled when coming down on the mat.
There was Crystal defeating Chelsea Marie in a very good women's match for both competitors.
Danny Zamora and Razael defeated Migs Valdez and Kanto Terror in a BGC Street Fight. It reminded me a lot of the old ECW matches.
Dabid Ravena defeated Main Maxx was one of the hardest hitting and banging matches I've seen. Today, both wrestlers are a part of the stable, Oro Plata Mata.
CJ Serafin defeated Robin Sane was a good match as well. It definitely elevated CJ Serafin as he was beginning to rise around this time.
Ken Cifer defeted Khayl Sison in Sison's return to the ring. Cifer would go on to win the Chilly Willy Cup early in 2023! This blogger has been a fan of both wrestlers for awhile. It was great seeing Khayl back in action and hopefully one day, we'll see him again.
Finally, Fabio Makisig defeated Jake De Leon for the MWF Pinoy Wrestling Championship is still a match that is in my mind from time to time. The ending of the match was totally unexpected but it was clean, no question.
Following the show, there were the many fans and wrestlers this blogger had a chance to talk with. Everyone I met was gracious. Being able to hold a wrestling belt is a dream. My thanks to Ken Warren, as always, for the great conversation we had. There was as well, the moment of a photo-op with Jake De Leon, definitely Mr. Philippine Wrestling in this fan's opinion. There was also my first experience with being on a you tube podcast and with Darius. Other than being nervous, it was a great experience.
People will tell you that your first show will always be the best one and that nothing will come close after that. This blogger is not so sure about that. He's seen three more shows in the Philippines since last December and they were right there with the first one.
This fan believes when all is said and done after the December 3rd show, it will top the other four watched. I'm definitely looking forward to Noche Buena!

As of three hours ago, there were ONLY five ringside tickets left. This means once they are gone, only General Admission tickets will be left. This fan was told the last time in the PMC Spotlight Theater that the event holds 300 people for an MWF event.
SO, if you plan on going, please secure your ticket as soon as possible! There is no question that this Noche Buena will be the best wrestling show this year, and for that matter, possibly all time.
Now, since the last update, there have been two matches added.
First, the Hong Kong-Philippine Cup entrants have been set. It will be Michael Su vs. Bitman vs. Joey Rosas in a three way match for the Cup. I will share more about the competitors and the match in a future post.
The other added match will be El Kapitunero vs. Brother Benny in a singles match. It has just been mentioned to this blogger that this will be Brother Benny's debut in the ring!
For more info on remaining tickets and the show itself, please check the Manila Wrestling Federation - MWF page on Facebook.
According to Cagematch, it appears to the database, that their first show happened on December 8, 2018 with an event called MYPW WrestleNation.
However, looking further back, like to September 2015, there was am event called PGMania. There was another event in November called Clash Of The Titans, a three day show. Heading the show were today's stars in Shaukat, Poppy, Gotham and Emman The Kid.
MYPW was doing very well through the years 2016 through the early portion of 2020 probably with five to six shows per year. Things were definitely going well.
Then on March 13, 2020, one of their upcoming shows would be limited to a small audience. After the show, because of the rapid spread of the pandemic, shows were obviously put on hold.
It wouldn't be until February 2023 when MYPW would be involved in a wrestling show once again. The promotion would take part with Grapplemax Pro Wrestling in Singapore known as Causeway Jam on February 11.
Then the following weekend, they would host their first show known as New Breed on February 18th.
After a seven month gap, Malaysia Pro Wrestling has come back with two shows in September with Footy SZN and this last weekend with an event called Journey To Gold. Everyone hopes that the two shows will be on the way back to normal for the popular promotion.
A year later, the crowning of a new MWF Champion took place on December 1st at the UP Bahay ng Alumni in Quezon City. Robin Sane would be the first MWF title holder in the promotion's history.
Then, of course there was last year with nine exciting matches at the PETA Theater Center in Quezon City. It happened on Sunday, December 11th. Among the nine quality matches that night, Isaiah Valencia would make it on to the main roster. There was a great women's match between Crystal and Chelsea Marie. It concluded with Fabio Makisig winning the title over a very deserving champion at the time in Jake De Leon.
Since that night, much has happened. The roster has grown with the editions of Joya, Kurt Jiminez. A new faction in Oro Plata Mata has surfaced led by Mr. Sy. Manila Wrestling Federation now can be seen in much of the Philippines. Thanks to a new channel, Rock Of Manila TV, the possibility is now fact. Subscribers can still watch the shows on GANK. When the promotion is not doing their shows at the PMC Spotlight Theater, there is an outdoor venue at Mandala Park in Mandaluyong. There have been a couple of shows there.
Now, we have 2023 Noche Buena. Four matches have been made already with more on the way.
A unique setup for the MWF Pinoy Wrestling Championship has been determined. You have an eight man tag team match. The Oro Plata Mata team (Jake De Leon, Dabid Ravena, Main Maxx and Kurt Jiminez) will take on the MWF All Stars (Fabio Makisig, Robin Sane, Nigel San Jose and Danny Zamora).
This fan was thinking about this last night. There are three scenarios regarding the last two wrestlers in the ring. You could have one wrestler from each team. Or, you can have two wrestlers from Oro Plata Mata or two wrestlers from the MWF All Stars left. It will be a very interesting match.
The four way women's match with Chelsea Marie, Joya, Super P. and the debut of Patricia Ligaya is one this fan is looking forward to.
Then, Brother Jomar Liwanag going up against Aaron Liwanag. The winner is the leader of the group.
There are, I'm told, three wrestlers from the Hong Kong Pro Wrestling Association that will wrestle at the show. Ho Ho Lun, Bitman and Michael Su are the competitors and are definitely coming to the Philippines to win! Ho Ho Lun is facing a capable opponent in "Danger" Rex Lawin who is back after several months away from the ring.
There is also the Hong Kong-Philippines Cup that will be announced soon along with several more matches.
Finally, after some decision making, it's time for another mini vacation and a little celebrating! This blogger has secured his ticket and is looking forward to a couple of weeks away from America in the Philippines! For this fan, sequels are always fun.
On this day, New Taiwan Wrestling in cooperation with Middle Kingdom Wrestling will have a well known wrestler in Zombie Dragon appear at the show.
For more information and tickets, please check the NTW page on Facebook.
Since I started doing this blog, and looking back, SPW is definitely the leader in Southeast Asia wrestling. SPW: Viva La Lucha will be their fourth show this year. When looking at the three previous shows, every match was top quality with a good number being Championship Title matches. Seeing some videos, wrestling fans, who were in attendance, saw some great action at the Foo Chow Building!
This blogger looked back at many of the show results on Cagematch. Andruew and company have made sure that wrestling fans in Singapore are getting their money's worth. Also, many, if not all of the top performers in Southeast Asia, have appeared in the shows.
SPW Viva La Lucha will be no exception here. There are five different Championship Matches that will take place in this show. Samuray Del Sol (formerly Kalisto) versus Andruew Tang IS a main event match anywhere in Southeast Asia. The Horrors vs. Bryson Blade and CK Vin tag team match will be a really entertaining match as well.
Before mentioning about tickets, congratulations to Alexis Lee, the SPW Queen Of Asia Champion on being in the top 250 women wrestlers worldwide in Pro Wrestling Illustrated's latest January 2024 issue. More than well deserved!
For more on tickets, and the show is about one month away, please check the SPW page on Facebook.
Dylan Hall (c) d. Jin Gae Sung for the KOK Championship.
Dr. XXplosive d. Eun Beyond.
Still awaiting results on the following matches.
Kim Nan Hoon vs. Omerta.
Strong Machine J vs. Shiho.
Kim Min Ho vs. Gustab.
If anyone out there is reading this and knows, please message me on Facebook. Thank you.
Grapplemax is one of three wrestling promotions in Singapore, along with Singapore Pro Wrestling and Ring Of Rebirth. On their website, it says that it is Singapore's Fastest Growing Pro Wrestling Community.
In this blogger's mind, Grapplemax is building their product the correct way. Their first show took place in 2017 and they haven't looked back. If this is correct, they have had more than 40 shows since the first one.
The roster is diverse, around 20 people aging from 16 to 46. They have their own studio that has increased in size at UBI 55 on 55 Ubi Avenue.
Their shows have been held to sold out crowds so there is a good fan base in Singapore. Certainly, things are definitely good and on the rise!
On the wrestling front, Grapplemax is led by their Openweight Champion, Big Dave and Wrestle Square Cruiserweight Champion, Jordan. Both have proven that they deserve to be at the top. Big Dave has had the title since the very inception in December 2022. Jordan won the Cruiserweight belt a couple of months ago in a three way match against Simon Siah and Christian.
However, there is a lot of competition for both of the prestigious titles. Anytime you have the likes of Christian, Ban, Hotshot, Simon Siah, Joses, Showtime and Showtime Inc., Wildfire Remus and more, on any given night, any of the wrestlers mentioned, could be a title holder.
Also, this fan is always excited to see a promotion have women wrestlers. It's great to see Sarah as one of the members on the roster. Hopefully, this will be an inspiration in getting more women to wrestle!
This fan believes that Endboss Gregory, Crypto Bro LK and Big Dave are involved in the training although there may be others that haven't been mentioned. If this blogger left out anyone, please let me know via message and will correct this.
Hopefully sometime in 2024, while visiting on vacation in Singapore, I'll take in a show. I've seen their shows on You Tube and always come away impressed with how hard they've worked to perform in front of the fans. It's definitely a must see if you are a wrestling fan.
