MWF Kasaysayan Update #7

Kodai Nozaki may be a pro wrestler that is unfamiliar to wrestling fans in the Philippines.

However, to wrestling fans that follow Kyushu Pro Wrestling, and to fans that follow the promotion in Japan, he's well known.

The two time Kyushu Pro Wrestling champion will face Manila Wrestling Federation's CJ Serafin at MWF Kasaysayan this coming April 14th.  The venue is the UP Film Institute Media Center, UP Dillman in Quezon City.

This blogger has seen the "roller coaster" career of CJ Serafin over the last year.  A former member of the stable, Barangay Bagsakan, CJ has wrestled in a couple of tag team matches of late.  On April 14th, he appears to be going solo in what might be his biggest test as a wrestler.

For more regarding tickets and the meet and greet, please visit the Manila Wrestling Fedeartion - MWF page on Facebook.  Thank you.

Dexcon Wrestle Storm "Dream Match"

Hello everyone.

It has now been announced by matchmaker, Linus Santos, that "The Red Lightning" Robin Sane will take on SETUP Thailand's Shivam in what is billed as a dream match!

Wrestling fans in the Philippines know the aerial, high flying maneuvers of Robin Sane over the years.  Sane became the first wrestler to win the Manila Wrestling Federation Pinoy Wrestling Championship.

If you haven't seen Shivam, please check him out on SETUP Thailand's You Tube page.  He has been a SETUP Singapore and AWGC Junior Heavyweight Champion.   You won't be disappointed what he brings night in and night out in the ring.

Shivam will be flying in to the Dexcon event, 24 hours after another show (March 23rd) that he's appearing in.  SETUP Thailand's show will have Shivam taking on New Japan Pro Wrestling's Zack Sabre Jr. in a historic match for the promotion.  The event is part of a collaboration with SETUP Thailand and New Japan Pro Wrestling.

For more information including tickets, please check the Dexcon page on Facebook.  Thank you.

The popular El Katipunero from Manila Wrestling Federation will take on Genkai from Kyushu Pro Wrestling in a singles match.

El Kapitunero is popular amongst the kapafeds with Manila Wrestling Federation and always rises to the occasion no matter the opponent.  Genkai will be a huge challenge since he is a three time - Kyushu Pro Wrestling Champion!

Kyushu Pro Wrestling

On Sunday, April 14th, Manila Wrestling Federation will be holding their next show, MWF Kasaysayan in cooperation with Kyushu Pro Wrestling.  The event will be held at the UP Film Institute Media Center in UP Dillman.

Other than former WWE wrestler, Tajiri, who will be in a main event, hardly did this fan know of the rest of the roster.

Earlier today, I watched a match on You Tube between Naoki Sakurajima and Hitamaru Sasaki in a recent singles match. The two wrestlers will be taking on WOW Tag Team Champions, Saint John Martin and Ken Cifer in a championship match.

There were several things that impressed me.  First off, early in the singles match, it reminded me of the early days of watching wrestling in the Territory Era.  There was actual wrestling in this match as there was with two quality competitiors back in the day.  The match was nearly 20 minutes long with the result ending in a draw.  However, it was a little controlled but exciting.

I'm not saying that I don't like how the product is today with the acrobatic skills, high flying and sometimes crazy maneuvers.  However, matches like Naoki Sakurajima and Hitamaru Sasaki need to happen more often.

The other thing that stood out was the fact that there were a lot of young fans there.  The young fans are what helps make the product great and they are the future fans going forward.

Kyushu Pro Wrestling is on You Tube and on Facebook.  I don't speak Japanese but looking at their Facebook page and their website, they have a busy schedule.  The MWF Kasaysayan event is on there.

For fans who have never seen Kyushu Pro Wrestling and are looking to familiarize themselves with the wrestlers, please check their You Tube page of their recent matches.  I believe the fans are in for a great time at the UP Film Institute.

VPW: Spring Bash Update #4

Hello everyone!  Another match has been added to Vietnam Pro Wrestling's show, Spring Bash, to be held on Saturday, March 16th at the VAIB Studio.

In a singles match, Chi Bao will be facing former VPW Openweight Champion, Damien Wolfe.  This will be a good test for Chi Bao who returned to Vietnam last year from Japan.

For more information on the show and tickets, please check the Vietnam Pro Wrestling page on Facebook.  Thank you.

Dexcon - Wrestle Storm announcement

My favorite wrestling matchmaker, Linus Santos, made a major announcement regarding the Wrestle Storm show next month.  The event will take place on the weekend of March 23-24th.  More on the event later in the post.  I'm working on getting the video on the blog.  In the meantime, please check either the Dexcon or Pro Wrestling Asia pages.  It is worth watching.

Linus announced that the Kappa World Order (Kappa Kozo and Kappa Junior) will be at the Sunday show.  The venue is the Brawl Pit Bulusan beginning at 6pm.

Kappa World Order, if you are new to pro wrestling in the region, wrestles with the promotion, SETUP Thailand Pro Wrestling.  Let's just say that the two wrestlers are definitely worth going to watch.  Certainly, wrestling fans in Thailand have watched KWO for several years and have not been disappointed.  Also, if you plan on being at the show, besides having your ticket(s), please bring a cucumber or two.

There are other matches to be announced including Robin Sane's dream match opponent for the show.  Here is the schedule of events that weekend.

Meet And Greet - Saturday, March 23rd at Unbox Greenhills beginning at 12 noon!

Wrestling Show - Sunday, March 24th at Brawl Pit Bulusan beginning at 6pm.

For more on tickets and information, please see the Dexcon page on Facebook.  Thank you.

MWF Kasaysayan Meet And Greet

Hello everyone.  My apologies on not mentioning about this earlier.

The Manila Wrestling Federation show, MWF: Kasaysayan will have a Meet And Greet following the event.  The show will take place on Sunday, April 14th (I believe at 4:30pm) at the UP Film Institute Media Center at UP Dillman.

There is an option that wrestling fans have regarding the actual show and the Meet And Greet.  Before making any decisions, please read all the instructions about the show and the Meet and Greet before purchasing tickets.  The instructions and information are very important here.  I added the Meet & Greet Mechanics that is on top of this blog entry.

This fan and blogger mentions this because it's important that every fan knows about this before attending the Kasaysayan show on April 14th!

Any questions, and/or for more information, please check the Manila Wrestling Federation - MWF page on Facebook.  Thank you.

VPW Spring Bash Update #3

Hello everyone.  A match has been added for the VPW Spring Bash show that will take place on Saturday, March 16th at the VAIB Studio.

Former VPW Openweight Champion, Ares, will take on Rykioh in a singles match.

For more on the show including information and tickets, please visit the Vietnam Pro Wrestling page on Facebook.  Thank you.

PWS Pub Brawl

This blogger just found out about the Pro Wrestling Society Pub Brawl : Chaos Reigns that will take place somewhere in Korea on Saturday night at 7:30pm.

The only thing I know is that The Eurasian Dragon from Ring Of Rebirth wrestling in Singapore will be there to wrestle.

This blogger doesn't wish to get into any controversy here about what is about to be said.  One likes to promote a wrestling company, particularly Pro Wrestling Society or PWS Korea.  I've had good communication with the promotion until late last year.

However, I shouldn't have to message a wrestler from another country to find out about a wrestling show.  This has happened with a wrestling promotion in Malaysia (not Malaysia Pro Wrestling) that I post very little about.  It's not that I don't want to post about the group, and their shows, but they do not seem to want to be communicative with the blog and this blogger.

This is not my loss for this blog!  There are plenty promotions that I can write about and write effectively!  Most of the promotions appreciate the write-ups done on them.

Recently, I promoted a future wrestling show for PWS Korea, and hopefully, the communication will be better going forward.

Back to the PWS Pub Brawl, if I can get any information regarding results, I will pass it on to the readers.  However, I'm not going to lose any sleep over non-communication!

Wrestle Storm Update

Robin Sane, one of this blogger's favorite wrestlers, will be wrestling in an international  "dream match" at the Wrestle Storm event on Sunday, March 24th, 6pm at the Brawl Pit Bulusan in Quezon City.

I do not know who the opponent will be.  However, Linus, the matchmaker will have an announcement this coming weekend on who the wrestler might be plus any possible additional matches on the card.

Robin Sane has been one of my favorite wrestlers since I started following Pinoy wrestling several years ago.  He's an experienced wrestler with high flying maneuvers and a lot more.

For more information and tickets, please visit the Dexcon page on Facebook.  Besides the Sunday show, there is also a meet and greet on Saturday, March 23rd, 12:00 noon at Unbox Greenhills.  Thank you.

FPW Academy

Last week, this blogger mentioned about the Filipino Pro Wrestling Academy that is reopening on March 3rd.

Before that, this fan wants to mention that the last FPW Astig show was very good according to several people I've talked with.  Per several news media outlets in the Philippines, there have been some results posted.  If anyone wonders why I haven't posted them, I have a blog policy not to post anything until the show has been posted to a streaming outlet such as You Tube.  If Red wishes for me to post them anytime soon, I would be more than happy to do it.

Back to the Academy, it is important for this blogger to mention the following message.

The world of pro wrestling is not for everyone to participate in.  It is important that people need to be serious about it when being at the venue wherever that may be.  If this fan was 40 years younger and about 20 pounds heavier, I would be very determined to join.

From what I know about FPW, the training is good with capable people leading the training.  They are experienced being in the ring for several years.  I know that it is the same situation with the Manila Wrestling Federation and with World Underground Wrestling - Philippines.

Besides the training, safety is definitely very  important!  What pro wrestlers do in the ring takes a lot of training, determination, has risks, and more in what they do.

So, if you are ready to see what it is like, please visit the FPW - Filipino Pro Wrestling page on Facebook.  Thank you for reading this.
